The Multiverse
This document explains the entire structure, rules, and history of the universe where my stories take place. We will begin large, with the multiverse, then the origin of Kalev's universe.
The multiverse is a huge arrangement of universes. We will refer to each universe by the name of a character that is from that universe. So far there are three:
Kalev's Universe. That is the one where most of the events of the stories take place. It is the home to the Republic of California, the Rainbow Burgers chain, and the four secret societies.
Fairy's Universe. This is the universe of the Triple Queens, the Fairy Godmother, and other fair folk come from.
Your Universe. That is the universe where most of you are now. It contains the United States, Canada, and McDonald's. While there certainly are secret societies in this world, they are not the four in the novel.
The city where Domdaniel University exists is in Kalev's Universe, in Wales, just hidden by magic. There are other magical cities hidden all over the world. Damocles Military Academy and it's city are also in Kalev's universe, under Mount Shasta. Other alien cities exist deep underground all over the world.

Imagine this universe is a circle, placed as a dot on a 2D grid. To the left and right are the alternate universes. Those are ones almost identical to our own, just a few differences here and there. The laws of physics, the basic rules of reality, are the same with all the alternate universes. There are infinite alternate universes. The ones "closer" to our own are more similar, the ones "further" away have more differences. For example, one universe very close by is exactly like our own, except an old woman in Glastonbury remodeled her kitchen in Harvest Gold, instead of Avocado Green. In one much further way, Germany and Japan won WWII. In one very far away, in the remote distance, the dinosaurs never went extinct, and humans never evolved.
There is an odd synchronicity between alternate universes. When two universes have major differences between them, some small details will always remain the same. For example, in a world where the British Empire still exists and owns North America, India, South Africa and Oceana, they still had the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Smiths, with all the exact same songs.
In the grid system described earlier, with alternate universes left and right, the parallel planes of existence are above and below. Core concepts of the laws of nature can vary between parallel planes. There is a fixed number of these planes, but we are not sure exactly how many- but it is a small number. Some say there are as few as eleven, but the highest estimate so far is 256. The planes exist between two extremes- a universe that is entirely ordered, and a universe that is entirely chaotic. The chaotic one has no mater, just energy, and no life. The ordered one is solid mater- also, no life. The universe just one step within the ordered extreme is material, with gaps, with energy darting back and forth within it. That universe is one huge solid brain. There is only one life form in that universe, and the universe is it.
Alternate= consistent laws, infinite number.
Parallel = different laws, finite number.
Parallel universes to our own also have alternates- but closer to the two extremes, fewer alternates are possible.
Magic requires some chaos to exist. The more order in the laws of a universe, the more that the universe relies on scientific principles like the laws of cause and effect. With chaos, truly random things can happen- and that is called magic. In the universes close to the center but closer to the chaos side, there are beings who can use magic to enhance their lives in one way or another.
All of the gods of a universe are contained within that universe. There are no gods out in the multiverse- it simply always was.
